Forest Systems Announces Community Charitable Grants for 2004

Conservation, Historic Preservation, Childhood Development the Focus

Forest Systems announced today the first of its 2004 community charitable grants, awarding three organizations based in Easton, Massachusetts with more than $5,000.

The three organizations are the Natural Resources Trust of Easton; the Easton Historical Society; and, the Old Colony YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

“These are three organizations that make a significant contribution to the quality of life people enjoy in the town where our national office is based and we're pleased to provide them with assistance,” said Scott Sacco, director of business operations.

The Natural Resources Trust of Easton is one of the leading land trusts in Massachusetts – overseeing hundreds of acres of conservation land in Easton for the enjoyment and benefit of current and future generations.

The Easton Historical Society serves as the primary steward of the town's rich agricultural, manufacturing and architectural legacy. This includes managing extensive archives and offering community-based educational programs for young and old alike.

The Old Colony YMCA Strong Kids program provides a summer camp experience for dozens of disadvantaged children from Easton and surrounding communities, offering both recreational and educationally based programs as well as affordable day-care services.

Forest Systems has supported all three organizations with financial contributions and in-kind services since moving to Easton in 1999. The company's charitable giving program focuses primarily on conservation, historic preservation and childhood development. The program is national in scope and active in communities where the company conducts business.
