Mr. Kay will oversee ground-level forestry operations for all of the Fund’s New Zealand-based investments. This will include afforestation and ongoing silvicultural prescriptions as well as all related land management activities. Prior to joining Forest Systems NZ, LLC, Kay served as general manager for Carter Holt Harvey (CHH), overseeing more than 280,000 hectares in New Zealand. During a career with the company that spanned 13 years, and that included several, high-level consulting assignments, he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility – ranging from forestry and resource manager to manager of customer service and financial controller. Early in his career, Mr. Kay was a forester, strategic analyst and forest supervisor with New Zealand Forest Products. He also worked as a forester with the New Zealand Forest Service. He holds a BS in forestry science from Canterbury University; an MBA from the University of Auckland; and he completed the executive management program at the University of Michigan.
